Ugh... VENOMOUS!!
Not poisonous. If you can't even get that right you certainly should not be working with them...
And if you don't know what a snake is you should NOT be free handling, especially if you have even the slightest thought that it might be venomous. What you have done here is entirely irresponsible and exactly why we are facing so many problems in the hobby right now!
People need to stop and think before they do stupid ****!
Lucky in this case it's a harmless snake and not something venomous, however you did not know that until after you committed the act of sheer idiocy.
Just because you have grown up handling venomous snakes does not mean you should be doing... especially if this is the way you do it.... If at all possible you should NEVER have your hands on a hot snake, especially one from the wild. If your state requires permitting for that sort of thing and you want to continue doing it... then GET THE PERMIT! We don't need any more laws governing us because a few stupid individuals can't follow the existing ones that created BECAUSE of stupid individuals!
Next time you go out and find wild snakes, THINK before act. If you don't know what it is, don't touch it! Simple as that.
Sorry if I am being a little harsh but I am a hots keeper. I have trained for it and I do it LEGALLY. i am also a large snake keeper, also trained and legal. And people like you doing stupid **** like this are the reason my entire lively hood and future are being threatened with idiotic laws. I have tried being nice before and educating and correctly more softly in the past... I have found that it is much more effective to just throw it out there and not sugar coat anything.... people seem to get the hint that this is actually a serious matter if they are being scolded rather than crooned...
