Whats the best skimmer for a 75g? I want a heavy duty one.

BTW Im looking at the CSS65 for 85.99 and the CSS125 for 119.99 and the CSS220 for 149.99 - PetSolutions, free shipping on a $200 order, so buy all your stuff at once and save $$$

If doing a HOB, go with the largest CSS you can afford--the 220 is the one I'd get.

Are those HOB?

zdoo2, I have found that adjustment takes a lot of patience. I would lower the bubbles in the intake & no bubbles would come up, so I'd raise it & it would overflow. I found if I had just waited a few hours with it lowered, it would have been fine. With that said, I wouldn't run it without the cup draining into another container (there's a plug in the bottom of the cup for that). Also, the pump should be as close to the skimmer as possible.

u mean closer to the surface of water right?, i havent used it for another 2 months, its just sitting in the basement and it cost over 20$ from bigals. however, i now have a 150g with 75g sump and was wondering if it would make a difference if i added the skimmer? (the 75g is a refugium now)

For HOB, cut the tube so short that the pump is touching the skimmer. I'm not sure about their application if used in a sump though.

I got a coralife 220g rated skimmer for around 210 shipped off ebay. Really good skimmer especially for the money. Only problem with them is there rather large. Best for in sump use due to size for the bigger models. Easy adjustment but the setup is somewhat time consuming if you want to do it right. Setting the overflow box at the right height about the water and all that. Overall I'd go for another if I hadnt put my newer salt tank to close to the wall lol.

I hung the 125 model on the side of my 55g.
