  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A tip from you Uncle Sean.....

If you stumble across a red thermometer, NEVER put it in your mouth! Those are suppose to take your temperature where the sun doesn't shine!

Howdy,

Mine are all fine. I confirmed with a digital lab thermometer. It's within 0.2'C (or 0.4'F)

Those of you with faulty thermometers: Try new batteries ?!

I probably wouldn't use any thermometer with a temperature probe unless you can calibrate it or replace the probe after it ages. I read somewhere that temperature probes on some syetups need to be replace every year.

all my coralife therms are crap, even when brand new.

believe it or not ati stick on therms have always been very accurate if your on the cheap, but i love my ranco temp controllers.

LOL sweet thread

Scroll down and read about Thermistors which is what our digital aquarium thermometers use. They are highly accurate. The problem is that the unit that reads the thermistor is commonly not calibrated correctly in our <$10 models, therefor it is the display that is inaccuarate. Which is why you baseline it then you will always know the correct temperature. Or you can get lucky and have one or three that are correctly calibrated and you have a accurate thermometer that also displays accurately.
