Coralline or cyno

I bought some live rock about a month ago and he had some that was purple i thought it was coralline but now not sure.Can anybody tell if this is coralline or purple cyno bacteria.Im trying to seed my tank.Thanks.

cyano from the looks.

from now on there is a easy way to tell, does it rub off? if yes its cyano

Dont think it rubbs off easy didnt know there was purple cyano bacteria too.

does it rub off at all would be a better question, as coralline is solid almost nothing short of a razor blade will remove it.
type coralline into google that will show you what it should look like

red color is a common color of cyano

No i took it out of the tank and rubbed it with my finger and nothing came off it has got a purple look too.

yes hopefully, although coraline comes in many colors a lighter purple is more typical.

it still looks a little odd to me, so if it forms mat type slime later on is cyano.

I have dark maroon coralline algae running rapid in my tank also
If it dont rubb off it's coralline
There are MANY different types of coralline algae..
if you look at this pic you'll see some of my coralline type dark red/maroon algae.

Thats awsome..Yeah there are all different types of coralline.Im real fond of the bright allmost floresent coralline.
