Coralline or cyno

No it wont come off at all i had it right in front of the powerhead for about 2 weeks.Mayby it just looks wierd baecuse it on the brain coral skeloten.It doesnt even come off with my fingernail.

Well that is super strange. You can kinda see through that...which is a cyano trait. Coraline has a more "solid" color usually...wierd.

how do you get coraline to produce in your tank?

I think calcium is the mane thing antinic lighting.There are other things that help too diferent additives and buffers for the ph and akalinaty.One other thing you have to have some kind of coralline in the tank to start with if not it will never grow.

Just went to the fish fair where i got the rock and ask the owner all he said was its algae so i think he telling the truth and hes got some purple up in that im going to get will update the tank once it takes over.

Coraline algae requires not just good calcium, but also alk and mag, combined with good lighting...calcium alone is not what coraline is composed of.

Regards to purple-up...waste of money. If you water parameters are correct, you should not need to add any additives to create coraline.

Regarding the issue at hand, without seeing a close up in focus pic, it looks like its coraline algae, especially if it does not come off from being in front of a powerhead.... ( thats providing the powerhead is switched on )
