Yeah your probably right but i just hate buying all those test kits im not sure how to read them.Im using kent calcium an strontium right now.
yea the calcium can suck, especially when you have to count the drops, all it takes is someone to talk to you or your dog to bark and you lose your place.

i wonder if any one has used a seachem calcium reef status test kit, it looks better since they give you a syringe.

May have to order some garf grunge just to make sure i got some kind of coralline in the tank.Ill see how this turns out with the live rock. The other rock came out of a seperate tank so there may be some in it.Its fijii.

The best test kits around are ELOS test kits Tried and true
SO worth the money !!
I bought like one every month till I had the magic TRIO to test my water properly!
The only thing is if you use SEACHEM salt you need to use seachem test kits, the salt mix throws other test kits way off..

I think calcium is the mane thing antinic lighting. There are other things that help too diferent additives and buffers for the ph and akalinaty. One other thing you have to have some kind of coralline in the tank to start with if not it will never grow.

Just went to the fish fair where i got the rock and ask the owner all he said was its algae so i think he telling the truth and hes got some purple up in that im going to get will update the tank once it takes over.

cyano from the looks.

from now on there is a easy way to tell, does it rub off? if yes its cyano

dont try rubbing your finger against that LPS skeleton! that will hurt  just put it infront of a powerhead. coraline is a calcium based deposit, and will not rub off at all...it would have to be chipped off. If it passes the powerhead test then it is coraline. the other **** is a huge pain in the ass...and i cant fix it myself.
