I just read somewhere, and actually saw the youtube video, that the way this person fattened up there fish, was with plain corn flakes. I wanted to know has anybody tried this and is it safe? This person's synspillums and black belt cichlids are very, very fat and big. I am having trouble getting the fish acclimated to the beef heart. They don't seem very interested. I myself have 3 Synspillums, 3 Green Texas cichlids and 1 Red Texas cichlid and 1 red chocolate cichlid. All are living very peacefully together so far in a 125 gallon tank. Please let me know your thoughts.:nilly:

Well for starters, you are overstocked. Fish will not grow big under this condition. Second, are you talking about the cereal or bits of corn? I really don't know if corn has anything in it to boost growth.

Never heard a 6'5" Nebraskin linebacker referred to as Corn Fed?
idk that flakes are gonna speed anything up
although i imagine they could live off of it

corn meal is in many fish foods, how ever i wouldn't use it as a staple/main food for my fish.

(despite how unorthodox some of my feeding methods are)

Most corn products are just used as filler in pet foods. They might get some carbs from it.

Might see if my cichlids will go for grape nuts.. I bet they'd love Count Chocula...

Actually would cocoa crispies turning the tank water chocolaty be referred to as a tannin? ;)

omg. I need to get some fish and raise them on coco puffs/crisps and taste them. Chocolate fish? are you serious that'd be amazing
