Corner aquariums

i also say some africans. you could create some nice rock/cave work given the shape of the tank.

or you could put in a tall piece of driftwood, and then have a school of cories, a school of hatchetfish, and a couple angelfish or discus. :)

Africans would be cools too, but be careful not to overstock, as it is not a huge tank ;)

I like discus, But I didnt think this tank was big enough for two or three of them?

What species of africans would you guys recommend? When I kept them I only had a few Mbunas like p. crabro.

yea i like the idea of a planted tank, get a nice upright center piece driftwood
get some nice angels like altums or platinums, mix in a school or two of tetras and cories, and a few apisto's

I have two Oceanic 54 corners. One is fully planted with a lot of tetras/barbs. The other houses malawi peacocks, a few synos, and a mbuna or two. As the fish get larger, I relocate the less desirable ones. This helps ensure the tank is not overcrowded.

I really like the planted discus/angels idea.

Lots of options for the tank if I think hard enough.
Not 100% sure If Im going to be purchasing it though, as I am still setting up an aquarium for a Gulper cat.

2 options:
1. Tanganyika: stacks of rocks for shellies, julies, neolamps, etc...
2. Planted: driftwood centerpiece, w/ tall valisnera & swords, cories and apistos for the bottom, a 2-4 angels for the middle(depending on your w/c schedule), and 8 marble hatchets for the top.

Both ideas sound awesome to me!! Have fun with it, and good luck!

It's a hard choice.
I really like some of the Julidochromis such as marlieri, ornatus, transcriptus.

But still, like I said; not 100% sure I'm getting this tank.

a tall set up with coral or rock with africans would be good or tall fish like angles or somethin or a planted tank with some drift wood would be nice a tall tank like that would have alot of room for tall plants which could look cool

Generally that wouldn't be a good tank for polypterus for then foot print is MUCH more important then hight all poly species only need about 12'' of water and as much floor space as possible plus if the tank is too tall it can make it hard for polys to surface to gulp air
