The marks and scrapes on the Oscars back is probably from the fighting.

Ok retest your Nitrate if you don't mind. Shake the bottles hard for a minute before using for the test.

It tested a little higher now - 30 mg/L . I just did a water change, should I do another today or wait?

When you do a water change are you adding a product such as Seachem Prime to the new water?

Yes you can do another water change don't forget your dechlorinator. After that start the weekly fin level water changes and hopefully the Oscars condition will improve.
