Nice lol. Well I want to stuff a 180 in that room yet but I have to push it through "zoning" (wife) before hand. She's not as excited about the fish room for some reason...

Ask forgiveness afterward, not permission first DUH lol

@bill. i am not offended but merely curious, how is it rediculous that i have all my tanks set up in my apartment, no one is suffering from it, all my fish are very well cared for and properly housed. Do i have more tanks in a smaller space than most...probably, but i gotta work with the space i have. Is anyone, or any of my fish suffering from it, nope not a bit lol.

Having multiple tanks has it's pros and cons, I have 3 myself and 1 empty, it's a PITA. Even with three tanks, you got three heaters, three lights, three filters, three water changes, three doses of dechlorinator (makes the bottle gone real fast). Hoses everywhere if the tanks are in separate rooms, cables, etc. Triple the things that can go wrong then there's the increase on water/electric bill, oh my what a wonderful fish life. :nilly: I'm moving the office into living room to fit an 8ft stand, will put all my tanks in there for easier maintenance. I definitely miss the ease of only having one tank to maintain. Fish obsession is fun, that is until reality sits in and you look at your bill. I still want a couple of monster dogs too and a cat.

sorry just read your last post bill, and i will say that i never claim to be normal lol. and as much as i joke about it being an addiction it is not. I enjoy my fish and enjoy taking care of them and find them very soothing. Simple as that lol.

Different strokes for different folks is how I'd see it. If the wifey is OK with it and you are OK with the trade off with your dining room, I'd say why not?.

No problem. That is understandable. I guess I jumped to conclusions because of my personal opinion. Having one or two tanks is the most I think i could maintain.

Yes, some people are able to maintain numerous aquariums. Possibly because they don't work much, don't have any other hobbies or interests and have found efficient methods to maintain them.

If you have ways to consolidate the maintenance it makes things alot easier. Centralized filtration with UV sterilization, auto-backflush and auto-water changes, aut-feeders, etc. make things more manageable. I work full time and have on-call demands, cut gemstones, dig fossils, scuba, do scroll saw projects, read, etc. Yet, I've also maintained 126 aquariums at the same time and still have time for the 'net and taking the family out on a regular basis.

Oddball, Are you saying UV sterilizers cut down on maintenance?...Because I thought an aquarium with a UV sterilizer had to be maintained just as much as before.
