With the pictures ive got posted, if you guys think a safe option for me would be to patch it rhen I definitely will do that.. I just need to be reassured that it will be a safe option as I dont want the entire tank to burst open and flood my whole room..

IMHO I think the glass patch will work just fine. I would do it like Duane and have a patch on the inside and the outside. I can't tell from his pics, but it looks like Duane only applied the silicone to the edges of his patches. I would actually apply silicone to the entire side of the patch that will be making contact with the tank, apply a lot of pressure to squeeze out excess, and keep this pressure on until silicone has completely cured. Then trim off all the excess silicone around the edges of the patch with a razor. I also don't feel you need a patch for the crack on the bottom. Just widening the silicone seal to that area should be fine. The tank's frame should keep that crack in place.

Id assume bigger the patch the better(and safer) as I just realized that top crack led off from that bottom shell crack so its all one crack.. will that be an issue with the patch? I was thinking about just having one run flush with the bottom of the tank, as well as the side of the tank. So a 20" tall by maybe a 10" wide panel of glass. Seal the exsisting cracks with silicone and then put the patch over and seal around the patch and then continue sealing the entire paremeter of the tank.. what do you guys think?

Hmm. Now its a more significant issue, so I'm not at all confident about a patch.

Im kicking myself way too much on this.. cant decide wether to bite the bullet and drop a bunch of money on a panel and have a lot more extra work to get that reinstalled or do a really secure patch on it.. cannot decided :(

220 g of water is alot to take the chance, if you are unsure fix it right with a new panel.you will sleep a lt better at night.

Yep, thought it out for a long time.l and decided im just going to spend the extra cash and buy a panel. Yeah im going to loose out on money but that cant replace the price of me worrying everyday that its going to leak and potentially ruin the room and things in it if not drained right away.. for short and long term its a much better idea to just bite the bullet and get a new panel. Ill be more happy in the long run and you cant put a price on that.. along with all the hard work ill have put in it will be rewarding. Thanks a bunch for the help and opinions everybody, now just time to research replacing a panel till my head blows up!

+1......unless this is going into an unfinished basement or garage or something where flooding won't be much of an issue.
