Leave them both. Theglass top brace will keep the sides from flexing but the plastic center although not as critical holds the outer plastic frame in place. It's a simple enough repair with super glue.

ok now before i go $#@% insane how do you get rid of that hard water stain. tried vinegar and scraping and after 5 mins on a 6" spot all i managed to do was kinda lighten it and get a few lines of actual glass. alcohol.. nothing. this is the only thing from keeping me from re sealing my tank. i read on some post that they used CLR and i know its probably not safe but i'm at the near end of my patience so any help would be great or even if CLR needs to be super cleaned or water filtered for weeks w/ carbon whatever.
sorry for the rant but i just want to get this tank up and cycling
