You can't save the world. Selling it to him was the right thing to do, as well as telling him.

i would have sold him a 29 gallon... i look at it this way most people think there 55 gallon is big and will keep 3 oscars in there... things like that are not my problem i would mention the need for a bigger tank after i got the cash in my hand... im also begining not to care how others keep there fish if they want to kill them thats on them...

personally since you can sell your integrity for a penny and not redeem it for the world

I could not sell this person that tank but would have to tell him he best get a bigger one since he took the time to tell me 2 oscars would be goin in it. I can not on the one hand advocate proper fish keeping and then sell someone the wrong tank for the wrong fish

I had a similar sort of situation selling my old 90 and 65 gallon tanks. only this time the issue was weight.

my tanks were on a stacked metal stand, so both tanks were on one stand. which means you have the full weight of a 150 gallon tank (+ gravel) in only the area of a normal 75 gallon. you can't put that kind of concentrated weight on a normal residental wooden floor without reinforcement. I happened to ask him where he was putting the tank and he said over his garage. I explained to him that I could NOT be responsible for problems with weight, I am not an engineer etc.

anyways, he bought the setup, but put it back up for sale the next day on the same ads I used for the same price. I guess I scared him off, which was better in the end I guess...
