Craigslist lucky haul... ex Chichlasoma Atromaculatus and more!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will get them both into the 90 asap then, hope that new sterilizer will do it's job, seems to work great so far! I'll start to post the other fish for sale today and get this started. Probably gunna make a divider for the 90 also.

A divider in the 90 is not a bad idea.
Remember a UV sterilizer only kills what pumped thru it, and only if retention time in front of the UV ibulb s long enough to destroy organelles. If the bacteria is internal, or in the form of biofilm on the fish, the UV sterilizer does nothing to at all.

I just realized that the dollar per gallon sale is still on. Should I move them into a 40 breeder/55 or 75 as a better and bigger quarantine? They apparently ate the guppies (or the filter got them), but still didn't touch pellets. I think the lack of space is getting to them.

I'm thinking then I can put the goldfish in the 10 temporarily until I can give them away instead of the bucket which is only 5 gallons or so and requires massive water changes haha, and the pleco in with the 2 of the atromaculatus. Fiance said he will happily help me buy the equipment. Mostly I would just need to buy the filter, cheap stand, and a cheap hood (or it can just go on the floor like they are now). He thinks it would be cool to set up a second community tank afterwards but perhaps I can return them! Hm............... I'm getting ideas already. This won't be good for my wallet.

I can pick it up sunday. Got plenty of used media to stuff in there too.

Where is the dollar per gallon sale?

Petco. Ad said it is good until the 28th and now they are selling the 75s. If they had the 125 or 150s I'd get that instead.

Duanes it would only be a quarantine for about a month. Then before the time they outgrow the 90 I can upgrade. Luckily they are smaller than the max size now. I'm thinking I can take advantage of the petco return policy in said month on the tank/stand. And then slap whatever light and hob filter I get on the 90, been meaning to get a bigger t5ho light fixture for it anyway, probably one with 4 bulbs.

If I can't return it maybe Ill make a huge livebearer setup moving everything from the 20 for a more massive food output and sell the 20 and vintage lab table which could be worth something to save for a bigger tank.

What am I even doing hahaha. Before you know it I will probably have half this apartment under water...
