Why do I feel that craigslist is full of shady people. Everytime I put something up for sale I instantly get emails from phony people wanting me to send them my name, telephone number, and adress. As if that's not worse enough I go to look at a 180 gal fish tank today that I thought was a good deal....yea I found out why it was so cheap. They stated "they needed to sell to make room for furniture they bought". I pull up to a house with screens busted out of the windows, a door that's been kicked in, and a bunch of baby pitbulls running around the house. The adult pitbulls had to be locked up before I could enter. Upon entry I find a 180 gallon tank with two emperor 400 hob filters (yes only two for a 180 gal tank), trim that's been cracked/busted off all around the tank, no top bracing for glass lids so 2 steal beams were hammered into the top to rest the lids onto
, a 12 inch light, and last but not least the side of the tank had silicone slapped onto it to slow down a leak from what it looked like
. I asked the owner if there had been a leak there that was attempted to be repaired and the response was, "naw it was like that when we got it". Who slaps a big gob of silicone on the outside of a tank to try and repair a leak
Needless to say my 2.5hr trip to pick up a monsterfishk tank today turned out to be a bust
...I guess on the brightside I lived to tell about it.
Anyone else have some horror stories about looking at tanks from craiglist.
