its the chlorine, you should always dechlorinator everytime you change the water, 50% WC is too much, or else use stock water.

I was dripping 60-70 gallons pf freshwater per day on a 300 gallon system. it changes about 75-80% of water a week.

50% WC is nothing. WC replenish trace elements that feeds your beneficial bacteria. I added plenty of dechlorinator during the water changes

I have too many fish that demands a lot of BB, the lack of water changes is what caused the crash. I have run the same setup with the same fish with the drip without any problem for years.

Nah, I have to disagree with this. Waterchanges are the best you can do with your Cycled filters/tank. I have always been huge on waterchanges, even b4 learning almost everything I have on MFK.

For the past few years, I have done 50%+ W/C on my 300 2times a week (no casualties). The last 6 months or so, I have dropped to once a week. My grow out tanks I do 75% every other day or two.... No casualties aswell. I add Prime with every water change.

I think he nailed it with not enough filteration or if it is a new un-cycled tank (didnt read the whole thread so if thats wrong then ignore).

Either way, it just sounds like it was a mistake but it will be fixed in the near future:naughty:.

Flamenco-t... can u post lots of pics as you re-set up your 24hr drip system? I plan on this in the near future aswell ann need tips from the pros:D

Did he have any pierce marks where she could of spiked him while mateing?

That's always a possibility.

I change 60% or more twice a week on my 300. Have never had a problem. What are baseing this on?

A lil update. I dumped about 500 ml of stress zyme (the big bottle) today along with more filter crap I rinsed off from other tanks. The water is clear again.

I try some small amount of cut up smelt and everyone was eagerly eating as always, which is a relieved.

I still have too much bio load. I may put some of the fish at buddy's tank ;)
