If you can find SAFE START in your area give that a try. Its made by tetra. Just make sure you buy enough for your gallonage.

I have been using this stuff for a couple of years now with every new tank set up. And it works great.

I trust it enough now that when I set up my little 125 I added the entire stock list the same day I set the tank up. Then dumped in 2 bottles or enough to treat 150g. And tested daily and all I ever seen was a .25 nitrite reading for 2-3 days. Never seen a ammonia reading.

If you truley beleive that your bio load is too much for your biofilters suface area. Then you might try switching or adding some ceramic media. It offers the largest surface area per space used out of all the media's.

Day 2, everything seems to be fine.

I have 40 gallons worth of bio balls as well as eheim 2262 with bio balls and substrat pro. I am now leaning more towards the male got stung by the female during the courtship. If I have time tmw, I'll thaw out the male and give a good look to find stab wound. I do notice my female's stinger tip is a bit lighter shade like it's been used

To me that sounds more like it... I doubt they would breed in an uncycled tank

I really hope so..

Day 3, I saw the Leoxpearl getting frisky with the female. He's no where near matured yet, he's just been playful with her.

She's more active last night, scaling the wall and moving around a bit more..
