I use a dip net too in addition to the trap. i put the trap at one part of the pond and dipnet at another.

Catfish love these things:grinno:

Thats it....I'm making one. I want to catch some of these little guys.

Is there any point doing this in the UK? I would like to have a crayfish... I have seen some big ones in the river...am I allowed to take them or what?

you should probably check your local laws. for example it is illegal to fish where i live. so i have to go outside the city limits to various creeks and ponds. but i still get some out of the duck pond. dont tell anybody.

Just pulled my trap a little while ago
got a few more

Nice, you have to have a day permit to fish at the river I'm thinking of but would anyone really mind if I just dumped a trap in and picked it up the next day? I'm pretty sure they're the American invading ones that you're supposed to kill, I caught one once before with a net and it wasn't the white clawed native one. I will check the laws anyway.
