People feed live mice to lots of things, this isn't something new. Probably drowned way before it got ripped apart.

Yeah, so the crawfish ate a dead mouse, why not just feed it dead mice in the first place, so the mouse doesnt have to die by drowning, its more humane.

I would think its no more pleasant than being suffocated by a snake.

Or the snakes are being eaten alive by live mice. That's why we have frozen mice/pinkies for. However being drowning/ripping apart doesn't sounds very pleasant than being suffocated by a snake.

and how do you posters know crawfish wouldnt eat this in the wild? i mean, prolly not a live one but i'd bet money if a mouse carcase were floating down river some crawfish would eat it.

And how often for a mouse carcass end up in the river?
