you really shouldn't feed crayfish red meat. crayfish mostly eat plant matter, small insects, any small fish they can catch or anything they can scavenge in nature. in fact most of a crayfishes diet is not meat. i feed mine hikari crab cuisine, algae wafers, peas, fish flakes, and occassionally fresh tilapia. anyway, back to the not feeding crayfish red meat, or pork etc. in nature crayfish almost never eat fatty foods, so their body can't handle fat well. if you feed them too much high fat food they will die.

lol it's a crawdad, do you know how much crap falls in a river? Basically these things could live off of poop by picking it apart, basically everything organic is fine for them. It's a mouse, people suddenly have a problem when a mouse drowns being held down by crawdads, but not when in a fish's mouth. You know what I mean how some fish play with thier food so to speak. No big deal?

Crayfish will eat pretty much anything, so the fact that they ate the mouse doesn't surprise me. However, a pre-killed mouse would have been a more responsible food choice considering the fact that the mouse died by drowning and could have injured the crayfish prior to meeting its watery doom, and that crayfish primarily feed on plant matter and dead animals, so the live mouse was unnecessary.

Actually, many people, including most MFK members, do find a problem with feeding live mice (or dead mice) to fish for many reasons. However, checking with people on YouTube is not a good way to judge what the fish world sees as appropriate because I imagine that most of us have all viewed a video in which a live mouse was fed to a fish.

any reason why it is a must to feed live mice/pinkies to the fish/crayfish?
