exoticfishguy;3568509; said:Dude, in reality, your math really sucks: 88,000 yen = 10 dollars???
BTW, the current exchange rate is not 1:100.
Here's a practice question for you: if 1 yen equals 1 cent, then how many dollars is 10,000 yen?
Tune in later for the solution...
Plec123;3569041; said:No. You idiot. The guy said that the shrimp was 955 yen. Since, according to you, 1 yen = 1 cent, then the shrimp would be about $10.
And, if 1 yen = 1 cent, then 10,000 yen = $100. Don't tell me my math sucks.
I agree and I dont get their fascination with albino looking fish with fancy names but if they can get someone to fork over copious sums of cash for them, then more power to em.exoticfishguy;3568393; said:Personally, I'm not a fan platinum variants, especially if they are of a common species, like rtc, gars, barramundi.
I can't justify spending money like that just because of the color, or lack of.
Essentially, they are common fish that sell for $30 or less in their normal coloration, so I wouldn't keep it in my tank or waste the money to buy them.
But I understand how others may want something like this, but it's just not for me.
Same goes for short body, deformed stuff as well...yuck!
