Crazy hot socal weather ! HELP!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tank is at 92F and fish are loving it. I got a lot of air bubbles in the tank to cool then down. The most effective way to bring down temp is 20% WC

add aquarium water to a 500ML water bottle, put it in the freezer then add it to the tank for a short time to lower the tank.

Chiller.

Fan across the top of the tank

air curtain in tank, heat raises having air push up the surface where its hotter will cause the heat to exit the tank.

cool the room

water change

think thats it. they all work and safe/easy cheap apart for the chiller lol.

U guys think it will be better closing the windows because it's hotter outside than in? I did a 20% wc ,put frozen water bottles in the tank, shut off heater, lights, and kept ac on. Temp dropped to 80F. I want it to 75ishF, should the window stay closed?

I am assuming they don't have AC Homer, or its broken, tanks in front of a window, massive pump in the water etc....

Either way a fan blowing on the water will cool it down, shrimp keepers do it all the time.

I keep my garage tanks cool(40g & 80g, CA cichlids) by running fans on them and raising the garage door about 3". For my 80 I took the lids off and put eggcrate in it's place with a fan on the eggcrate blowing directly on the water. Garage is about 115 and the tanks don't get over 86 with the fans on.

Damn looks like others got more intense than my small issue. I'm going to another 20% wc if three water bottles and fan doesn't cool it down atleast to 75
