crazy p diet question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wasn't meaning that they require the same flow, simply that if you can properly take into consideration how water flow will affect 1000+ polyps and adjust it accordingly, then creating proper angles, current and drag for a p tank is easy.

I know that sounds like it would be a strong current but the way I have it set up even minnows swim with ease all throughout the tank.
I'm not saying that swimming against strong current doesn't burn off the food, simply that I don't have a strong current. Thank You for the insight though.

anytime.
could be feeding amount one of the factor? 200 feeders a week that's a lot for one day, average about 28-29 per day plus other junk food.

I think it really is the fastfood effect. It may make you bigger faster but it isn't a good thing.

here's what i keep thinking about though......gold fish are suppose to be growth reducing?

I'm not trying to get flamed, i'm just trying to understand so hopefully no one comes out with their gun blazing

I know ballin, I don't get it and have given up on understanding it.

well according to all the materials I've read that the full potential of rbp is 12" ± an inch or so, so if on goldfish diet it may never reach that size, or the may not be able to live as long as the life span suppose to be...
those are my guess, probably won't know unless someone do some research on this subject by feeding some piranhas goldfish its entire life and see how that turn out...

I think its kind like smoking...everyone know that smoking is bad for a person's health and can shortly lifespan but you can have a prefect health person diet at young age and a heavy smoker live to 90.
being a good fish keeper the best we can do is to provide fish the best care that we can offer.

I do think the whole fish diet may help somewhat due to all the extra calcium intake from the bones, gill plates, scales, etc.

I think ballin said something about feeding his p's crickets...tried it out today, just got a dozen and they loved them! I also tried silversides like jp said but they didn't really like em'....their faves so far: shrimp, tilapia, and spinach. I have been mixing in the pellets but it is hit or miss, most of the times they just ignore them or spit them out.
