What do you all think of a 7'' low grade red dragon flowerhorn,4'' cherry fh,3'' cherry fh, 6 and a half inch synspila, 6'' synspila, 4'' synspila cross, 4'' salvini, 5'' nicaraguenese, 4''carpintis texas, two 4''red forest jewels for dithers and I love their color, Oh and two new members which I couldnt turn down for the price($50) A 9'' male venustus and a 7''female livingstoni-venustus female cross????? That the male ven calls his wife? HAHAHA. All in a 125g tank they all call home. Crazy huh.

It sounds horrible because that is way overstocked.

Eventually all those big bruisers are gonna do nothing but fight. And that's if they dont start off fighting. The smaller fish are just gonna get caught in the middle of it all and take the heat from everyone else. Also most of the fish your wanting to stock get somewhere in 12" range, a standard 125 is way too small for that many fish that size.

Poor fish. :(

Why does it sound horrible japes?

Just contributing my dislike for the setup you've created that you find hilarious and crazy purely for the sake of it. Your thread title contained a question, I gave you my answer.

If you want reasons, the following:

- It's overstocked.
- It houses African Rift Lake Cichlids and American Cichlids together (While parameters can be similar, fish behaviour between the continents generally isn't)
- It houses 5 hybrids.
- It houses breeding hybrids.
- You actually think the Red Forest Jewels could possibly function as dithers in such an overcrowded tank. They're just another 2 fish in the firing line of everything else, merely spreading aggression.

I agree, what's beautiful to some is horrible to others. It's going to be beautiful when you realise I'm right.

I have had this setup running with these fish for roughly a year now with not too many problems with aggression, and am planning to get a custom made 500g tank for my basement. As far as the new additions they are doing fine, eating and seem content. But thank you for your thoughts, some people believe in differnet species being mixed and some dont, I agree with the fact of overcrowding, though.

i wouldn't call it crazy but a blood bath waiting to happen, also very cruel. That is way to many fish in that size of tank, Most of those fish are about half size maybe, and if you have had it for a year then your stunting the growth of the fish because flowerhorns will hit 12"-14". You need to thin that stock and quit trying to brag about it. I bet your nitrates are off the charts.
