We've collected creek chubs in January. If you know where they go, you can still collect them.

I should add that I've seen BIG creek chubs, so make sure you have the right setup for them.

They cant go far, the creek there in is tiny. Its just that I fly fish for them and I dont know if they will still take a fly or not. Its really hard to get to them w/ a net of any sort.

i feed 4-6 inchers to my gars all the time.. i keep about 30 of them in a 30 gallon tank pretty consistently and feed my gars 1 each per day.

That looks more like a stoneroller than a creekchub.

That is a stoneroller you got there focker.

I have seen creek chubs up to nearly a foot long and they have incredible color when breeding. It's very difficult to believe after seeing the very small nondescript juvies.

what the hell is a stoneroller. around here if its a foot long then its a sucker. those 3-7 inchers u find in creekholes are creekchubs.

Common Name: Creek Chub

Scientific Name: Semotilus atromaculatus

Length or Size: 3-8 inches

Comment: Creek Chub has a large mouth with the upper jaw reaching to or beyond the front of the eye. Found in almost all streams supporting fish. Used for bait.

Stonerollers are of the Genus Campostoma. These are the fish you see hugging the bottom in schools scavenging and flipping rocks looking for food. They have an underslung mouth and a more mottled body coloration when compared to the creek chub's terminal mouth and very small silvery scales.

the ones with the horns on them. i think there called hornadasies or some ****. but thats what i call creek chubs

Yes, we netted a 6 incher that look like it had barnacles growing on it. I hooked a 10 incher while trout fishing, and my friend and I saw fish over a foot long in the spillway in our neighborhood until some *******s from the county decied to fill it in with rocks. I have heard that there is a place near my house that has lots of giant chubs.

Well, both stoneroller and creek chub males get tubercles when in breeding form, so this is not a good way to determine species.
