Creepy old LFS still around after 13 yrs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just dropped by and snapped a few pics. The door was locked n nobody was inside. I couldn't find the store hours anywhere. Looks like they did some major clean up too. The right side of the store got some stuff going on so the small store becomes even smaller. This is Mermaid Tropical on Garden Grove blvd. I'm sure people in OC have passed by the place. Here's the Yelp page

I'm planning to come back and talk to the owner to see what's the deal.

it isn't the worst i've seen. But i'm chuckling at the way this store closes shop!!! With a piece of string.

LMAO at some if those review comments....

That's not half as bad as the one by my moms house in the Bronx.

Any word? Im sure i speak for everyone when i say im very curious to see what the owner has to say.

Obviously, you've never been here. Seriously, who looks at the floor when shopping for fish? Hahaha! I guess my taste for fish shop decor is low. When I go shopping, I usually lock my eyes on just a single fish or two and the rest won't matter. Believe me, LFS can be creepy but that is better than them being a dying business. It brings variety from competition if there's more of them.

That doesn't look so bad to me. We got some grimy ones in the outer boroughs in NYC and, of course, in Chinatown near me.

Get some photos ,between you and Doomiedee and possibly others we can make this a photo thread of rough looking fish shops.
