does anyone have any experiance with these i got two from a guy they are about 10-11" for $25 for the pair what should i feed these and how big do they get.

btw: i will post pics later they are a little stressed right now they ate yellow with black look awesome.......should i keep these two together?

taz has had for about 8 months and is now over a ft long, will eat live and frozen foods and pellets and if they are a pair keep them together and if not watch for aggression and play it by ear. but great find wish i was you for that purchase!!

thnx i saw agression so i spearated them i just wanted to know if i should keep them together

Dont keep them together if you see MAKOR aggression. but if its once a week it should be fine

cinctas are one of the largest pikes that get about 18"+. Part of the Lugubris group so sexing is by the dorsal; White stripe for female, no stripe for male which at the size should be able to tell.

VERY aggressive and teritorial at that size. Mine owns the middle of my 150.

I know of 2 color variants; 1 has red/orange in it, the other is green. The green being more common from what Ive seen.

They will eat anything and alot of it. I vary my diet with pellets, frsh shrimp, frozen foods and a mix I make.

feed and change water, should have no probs except with maybe other fish if any...

Actually there are three color variants......your forgettin about the blue/gold variant. Heck there might be even more than that, you never know!! They do get large, they are aggressive, and they do command respect. As long as you give them that and don't try to keep them with the obviously stupid fish, should be relatively alright. As for keepin them together, its a toss up. Sometimes mated pairs will turn on each other....

Our Cincta female (11"+) is relatively cool in a 125 with other tankmates, & actually quite tolerant. Previous pair we had were OK together until they got about 8" - then had to separate them due to male's aggression. (That female won 1st in class, ACA 2005!)
Have read that males are usually 'loners' in the wild, not into being a couple I guess...
Like the red/burgandy variant the best --- truly strikingly beautiful PIKES, one of my favs..
