AquaAuctions is a new site. Right now most of it's clientell is based in Australia with a small margin in the USA and some other places.
I hate AB because the owner is less concerned about his freinds and the people that have made it what it is today then pocketing what he can. He allows people to recap negitive feedback with bribes and I HATE POPUPS!
The shape of the head, and color of the ring around the cadual ocelli, leads me to believe it is Crenicichla lucius, not proteus. But I am no expert. But from the pictures on Mostly Cichlids, the proteus has no yellow ring, and lucius does. Proteus has a slight hump to it's head, and lucius has an angled head. Both are found around Iquitos. But check it out and see if you agree. http://www.geocities.com/NapaValley/5491/luciuspage.html <Lucius
Looks like proteus to me. Here is a pic of my female. I hear the big difference is the dorsal colors. On females of C. proteus, a red band runs under the 2-4 black dorsal ocelli while a white/light blue line follows the top of the ocelli. Kind of hard to explain... so hear the pic of an adult proteus (female) and a young male. I'll see if I can dig up some pics of my others proteus and lucius.
BTW Waldo, are these the "green pikes" I was watching on aquaactions?
