Crenicichla Notophthalmus have bred for me

Do you still have them in a 40 breeder? If so, are they alone or do they have tankmates? I am thinking of moving mine. I bought a stand for my 40 breeder today so I can start lowering their pH/hardness and giving them privacy. I wasn't sure if dithers would help the aggression from the male. I don't want him to turn on the female if I isolate them.

Yes I do. They are alone. However, at first I put in 7 juvie silver dollars to act as dithers. Just to strengthen the pair bond. They worked great. I removed them from the tank once the fry were free swimming. The pair has been alone ever since. Just make sure there are plenty of hiding spots for her. My male does chase her once in a while but its nothing serious. Not like it was before they bonded.
