State of chaos
I will probably (actually, I wille) be picking up a young Crestie in the near future, and I have some diet-related questions. I know they need insects and some fruit... so, crickets and applesauce or what? What ratio, how often, etc? I have calcium/D3 supplement so that's not a problem. Keep in mind, commercial diet is pretty much out of the picture because Petland doesn't carry the stuff.

Applesauce is nothing but sugar. That's a terrible diet for geckos. I feed Repashy's CGD 100% and my geckos are all fat and healthy.

PS PM'ed you.

Okay, I'll find the least nasty baby food and feed that in a dish plus crickets and the occasional waxworm. I replied to your PM, Tanted Glory. Will you be making an appearance at the expo other than that?

repashy crested gecko diet is good but if you did feed applesauce itd be ok but more of a treat if you ask me..

If you can not and will not care for it properly.... then why get it?

I am sure some pet store around you carries the CGD. My little mom and pops one does.

A diet of mainly crickets and apple sauce ( or least nasty baby food) is going to make a unhealthy gecko....

AGAIN - why get something you have done no research on. :irked:

HEY. Back off. What makes you think I have done no research?? I have spent most of yesterday and today reading up. But I decided to ask on MFK because I know there are quite a few Gecko guys, like Vicious_Fish or evilxyardxgnome that would hopefully find the thread and confirm or correct the info I found on other sites. This site is for helping people. If you don't wanna be helpful, or at least post some constructive criticism, which I haven't seen you do in a LONG time in one of my threads, don't post or better yet, click that little X in the upper right hand corner of your screen.

And if Petland Discounts (the ONLY local LFS) carries Crestie diet, I will put "Kearth is an expert and always willing to help out" in my sig for a week :irked:

What makes me think you have done no research? The fact that you said CGD is out of the question.

SO my confirmation that a crested gecko can not live happily and HEALTHY on crickets and the least nasty baby food was not good enough?

Now I have not kept crested that long only roughly 6 months or so. And one of the things they drew me to them was their DIET... Simple, easy, CGD

and just FYI the petland discount on 5th street carries a crested gecko diet. I just got off the phone with them.
