Ok I might be getting a tiger morph pair of cresteds. I had a crested before that I loved dearly but I was young and naive then and I didn't take very good care of it. Ok first thing, they are in a ten gallon right now so should I move them to a 29 asap or since they are small should I leave them in the 10 for now? Second, I have a small 65 watt light for the 29 that just keeps the ambient temp up a bit right now should I leave that or lose it all together, or something smaller that just puts out light? Third, where should I put the heat pad? On the bottom of the cage or on the side since they are arboreal? Last, how much should they be eating and how often should I mist? I know you guys are going to say go check it out on the internet but as most know person to person experiences are always best.

P.S. What kind of substrate would be best?

I don't have much experience with Cresteds, but from what I have read is that they don't require much more heat than common household room temp of 70-75 degrees. So I believe a heat pad wouldn't really be necessary. If you do go with one, the best place would be on the side of the tank.

So what do ya think...Be gone with the lamp? Atleast the bigger one? My room is kinda cold so I think maybe a little one to keep up the ambient temp...Also I already have a heating pad so I might just put it on the side just incase they feel as if the need to be warm. They won't burn on one will they?

If you are going to use the heat pad, make sure to have a thermostat to monitor the temp. Especially if your room is cold. A day light wouldn't be so bad, in fact if you use, I think but don't quote me, a 35 watt bulb should heat the tank as well?

Ok well I don't want to spend a butt load on a thermostat so no pad...But you think it would be a good idea for a small day light just to keep it a little warmer? Also...any answers to the other questions? lol

Chad

just keep them room temp.

If this means no additional heating except for cold days go with a heat pad.

No bulbs :)

Well room temp in my room is like 65 always...
