Hey guys need your opinions! working on my aquascaping my rimless 57g. this is my first go at it, so design may change after i look at it for a few days. the tank will be heavily planted so not all that driftwood will be exposed.

i need brutal honest opinions! too much wood? bad layout? i also threw in the my big anubias tree for a test fit. i kinda like it right there in the corner. or i may end up breaking it in pieces and spreading it out.

thoughts??

keep it like it is! only put half of the clump on the far left/back of the tank for a little symmetry. loving it though

thanks! there will be a lot more plants though, so worries about bald spots. only thing im trying to avoid is symmetry lol! going for the 'nature aquarium' look so im not sure if symmetrical arrangements will work. Dutch-styling for sure though :)

looks nice.
are you going for an amano kind of look?
I'm pretty sure one of his tanks has a huge log that's half emersed. It looks awesome.

thanks, i dont really think im going for a specific amano look, just a densley planted tank. there are way too many rules in the world of amano-style aquascaping. this woudl be a failure already lol

I would personally breakup the bunch and use it at the base of the driftwood, and the back left corner could use a nice clump. It kind of depends on what other plants you plan on getting though imo. The rock, and wood placement is just about perfect though.

ill have a low growing foreground, slightly taller midground plant, and a bunch more anubias, java fern, and some tall rotala in the bank

thanks! this is what im thinking:

foreground: staurogyne repens
midground: blyxa japonica
rear-midground and in between driftwood: anubias & java fern
back wall: some different rotala species
