Critique my aquascaping!!!!

I don't think it's a amano-failure. One of the rules can be minamalistic. It looks great the way it is -- simple and clean. Your fish will look great.

Sounds like a pretty good plan, I think you should break off some of the anubias as it grows where it is. And use those to plant the midground, and I think if you got some red rotala mixed in the background it would look nice.

would you consider adding a few smaller foreground rocks? and I feel like you need a taller rock sticking up among the ones in the back left.
other than that, lookin sharp.

I only have two major concerns about the layout.
The branched wood looks a bit thin and sticky to my tastes, are you going to plant anything on it? I think it would look good with some patches of moss.
My biggest concern is the driftwood screening and concealing whatever you have planted in the centre rear, but I suppose this might just be the lower stems of a tall growing plant?

I like the anubias placement up high. Another smaller anubias low right of centre (or a third, mid level left quarter) might balance it.

Something else I might try is another piece of wood sweeping up and across from the left as contrast to all the wood moving from the right.

I dig it JC, however, as you know, I am new to all this. That is a much better job than I could do. Can't wait to see it up and running!

I'm diggin' it. I think you may want to add some on the left side to go the opposite direction and if you have a few smaller pieces to go opposite of the main piece(as if 2 trees fell opposite ways in to each other)
Just my opinion is all but it makes a more natural look.DON'T cut that anubius man it looks great at that size.
