whos got a good spot to get crix in like 1000 count and such for good price.I looked some up but wonder who you guys use.Im thinking of doing that and keeping them in a large storage container.

i buy them in about a two hundred count and i just through them in a spare ten gallon for now but i plan when my collection grows to make a bigger housing for them probably in a big plastic container and just i side note you probably know this but the more and longer you house them the more the smell increases so select a good place to put them

Haven't used them but Flukers is supposed to be the best.

Might be worthwhile to raise them. It's very easy and then you can control what they eat. Yeah they kind of stink after awhile, good idea to use 2 containers and when one gets ripe transfer over the crickets to the other one and clean it.

I've raised crickets before, they stink like hell. You don't want to keep them in your house if you decide to.

Jason I know you don't like them but you should really consider breeding roaches.

jason LLL in socal has them at thousand count for a decent price.

Yep. Although the switch might be hard. I got a baby Crested Gecko that enjoy roaches, but the more mature ones were raised on crickets and don't recognize the roaches.

ok so why are they better?Do they ot smell as bad to breed. How many do you start with and what could you have in a month or so?Ive got tarantulas, crested and the frog.

I guess you really get to know ppl on here, lol,,,,,,,,,,,roaches,:yuck:but Im up for info dangit, lol.

Roaches don't really smell at all and most species give birth to live young so you don't have to worry about egg laying substrate like you do with crickets. The species I'm raising needs warm temperatures (80-90F) to survive so if they escape they will most likely not live for long. They also can't climb glass or fly.
