Cruelty In All Its Glory

Ya that chick in the vid thinks its real funny teasin the FH....not gonna think its so funny when it bites her cuz i dunno about everyone elses FH but mine easily draws blood when it bites. I wanna see the sequel to that vid where she gets bit lol.

Way different then breeding short body fish. A short body fish thinks and feels the same as a normal bodied fish. I see no cruelty in short bodied fish. No fish has a natural purpose in the aquarium, All fish kept in captivit are in captivity, solely for the pleasure of man. Would you keep a midas or synspilum in a tank like this? The answer is no, Well I hope that would be your answer. "Flowerhorn People"? I guess you have no idea what "flowerhorn people" like.
You dont see any cruelty in breeding fish with short deformed spines and barley functionaly mouths. Yet you want me to cry about a non ill, very pretty and aggresive fish because he is in a small tank. Some of these big kok fh and blood parrots can barley swim. Like the terrible looking parrot in the small tank that comes up after this video goes off. He can hardley move his mouth. Point is i feel if a person can deform a fish just to make it appealing to him, he can keep it in whatever size tank he likes. Any person who truly loves a animal would not deform them on purpose for his own pleasure. All fish have a natrual purpose unless they are man made like fh/parrots. Unless you come from asia where these fish were created you are not a fh person rather a fan. The people who are truly creating these fish are striving for more extreme deformity in the fish. Same as alot of the non functional fancy goldfish. These fish are created to be a show piece only. My tanks with my natrual fish are set up as close to thier natrual habitat with thier natural inhabitants so i can watch a small piece of what goes on in nature. FH/hybrids are cool with me. Couple ive seen look amazing. Still alot of cruelty and culling(killing) goes in to breeding these fish. Especialy short bodys and parrots.

I don't know, my short body fish and parrots live full lives and have had no problems. They are different, they don't have mouth that open and close like some fish but they eat fine. They don't swim as fast or turn on a dime but they don't suffer and lay on the bottom or float around. Even though the fish in the video appears healthy and all, it would benefit from a bigger tank - then again, any fish could probably benefit from a bigger tank so it's a mute point.

There are other short body fish other than parrots. I have kept blood parrots in the past, ate fine and acted like any normal cichlid, I've also kept a short body carpintis, a pure species. Blood parrots are just the lowest quality of the parrots, the nicer ones like many king kongs, mammons, and ingots have fully functioning mouths Culling is very important in both hybrids and pures. The fish don't know that they are pure or hybrid they think the same. They should be treated the same. You shouldn't treat a hybrid any less than a pure species. The fact that its a hybrid should not matter in how its treated. Fish in captivity don't have a purpose besides human entertainment! its just a fact. There is nothing natural about keeping fish in an aquarium, no matter how similar it looks to the natural environment. kudos to you for keeping your fish in a natural environment that your fish probably love. SO you have to be an asian to be a "flowerhorn person"? Pretty sound logic right there.

First off there is no such thing as a short body texas its a defored texas that would 99% not survive in nature. You think its fine to have a fish that cant swim fast or turn on the drop of a dime but its so cruel to have a fish in a tank thats to small even though he can swim fast and turn on the drop of a dime. Whats the point of a big tank if you cant swim fast and turn around in it lol. Last you dont have to be asian to be a flowerhorn person, but we cant take a vision of something that other people created and start telling them what to do with it.

That is such a typically Taiwanese Flowerhorn tank. Happy, healthy looking fish in a tiny tank.

For people who live in the USA, just go to your local walmart...you can see cruelty at its best any day of the week...10 oscars in a 3.5g, dyed fish, etc etc etc...the only difference in their care of fish is the water is a lot poorer. Oh, and whats awesome is they sell you 10g's a couple feet away. What an upgrade huh
