Piercing your fish isn't any different than cropping a dogs ears or tail (which I also don't like much). A person can choose to tattoo/pierce themselves, an animal can't...

this person is a MFK member.

by tattoed fish are you talking about the dyeing of fish like blood parrots with I luv U on them?

where did you hear this?

I wouldn't do it but I think thats cool...flame away. And seriously if you have a major problem with pierced fish then I hope none of you ever go FISHING...

Yeah I don't think its that bad, at least he has the fish in a 75 gallon, I mean tagging a fish in the wild is equally as painful (not to mention catching a fish on rod and reel).

I don't think its that bad, they look healthy, even though its not natural. I mean people overstock their tanks on this website to no end, and the fish look healthy, so nobody says anything. Overstocking isn't natural, but if he can keep the fish healthy this way I don't see any difference between, again, tagging a specimen or catching one on a rod and reel.

doesnt bother me. he had stated 10 mins after he did it the oscars ate and had no problems eating. it would seem to me if it bothered the fish then they would not have eaten right away. i dont think fish feel pain but if they do then i guess i put alof of fish in pain when i go fishing.

The members name is MistirE, he occassionally drops in, but is not in fish keeping currently. He did not leave because of the flamming, stayed and took all the abuse anybody would dish out. He admitted that piercing the fish probably was not a good idea.
