After seeing pics of all of the different Cryptos in the genus I have to say they are some gorgeous fish and have the personality to boot in a nice medium to small sized package! Some are even built like a MAC truck with a full robust body and nuchal hump. Saying all of this please post pics of your Cryptos species that are less common then their Convict counterparts that are so often seen and show everyone how great they are!! (Please no convicts unless they are fully grown and beastly lol). :headbang2

I started a thread just like this a while ago lol! Heres my old young sajica pair that i sold :(

I really like cryptoheros. I currently have nanoluteus, sajica, spilirus, and a couple cutteri types. Have been looking for myrnae, septemfasciatus and the like but have been unsuccessful so far.

ya im surprised too! they arent tank busters and are extremely colorful! i think the problem is they relate them way to much to convicts and also treat them as such. It's such a shame becuz they are truly gorgeous!

The only true LFS store around me had a whole bunch of them. They had a wide variety of cichlids and other fish not commonly available. They were actually very knowledgeable about all the fish species they kept. But they were forced to close. It's funny the ugly grey convicts are popular but the cryptoheros are not.

How about Archocentrus?
