Polyester pillow stuffing. I have a couple 2262 full of nothing but stuffing and Purigen. Great for clear water and cheap.

Change 75% of your water every week, you'll have clear water. It's just that simple in my tank.

+1 and sponge bubbler can help also. but i run nothing special, canister and HoB combo's for water volume . just fin level water changes every week with a good vacuum. water always crystal clear.

guess I should add on crystal clear water. crystal clear water does not mean good water, it can have 200ppm nitrates and still be crystal clear. on the other hand water with allot of particultes floating in it can be 10 ppm nitrates. just saying having crystal clear water is no excuse to not do the proper water changes. do the water tests and find what your water changes should be. no mater water clarity. :)

Is there anything I can do about the amount of floaties being brought up from my sump? I'm not 100% sure what it is... could it be bubbles from my pump?

10x turnover from 2 2217 keeps my tank looking quite crispy. I run double coarse sponges and double polishing pads and a prefilter on the intake.

gray rock with green algae is through over 30" of water. 20140625_125400.jpg
