i dont know thats what was said to my buddy tho when he ordered either way if it is a F2 or not i love the cubans they are nice looking fish. I have it in my 29 gallon grow out tank right now cuz it is only 1.5 to 2 in it is gonna end up in my 125 gallon with a Venny pike a Female loisellei and a 5 spot jewel cichld. I am trying to find something else to go with the cuban to grow with but i dont know what can go into the 29 with it for now so they grow together and then go into the 125

me and rapps talked about the order and words may have been crossed some how... cool fish tho. You should try and post some pics. I know for sure our next order will contain some f1 cichlids

I love the Cubans great colors. i have it in my 29 grow out tank and it will end up in my 125 gallon with a Venny pike a female loisellei and a 5 spot jewel. I am trying to find something togo with the cuban now (south american or central american cichlid) to grow with but will be able to go into the 125 with my other fish too thats what rapps said and it was labled on his web page as F2 cuban's too

There are actually a bunch of different color variants posted on drawings on the CRC page of the species if you guys are members. Definitely worth checking out.

Jeff rapps Said whe my buddy placed the order it was a F2 he owned the parents

That's interesting, didn't know that Jeff had wild caught cubans as they are from Cuba and there are obviously trade restrictions between the US and Cuba. There was a big thread a while back that got pretty heated on the subject. I'd be interested to know what methods he had to use to import them.

If these are F2 and Rapps said he has the parents, the parents would be F1, not wild (F0).

Also, if Im not mistaken, the last batch of wild tetracanthus (F0) that came in, came from Oliver Lucanus @ Below Water in Canada, where the trade restrictions are a lot less strict.

what is CRC ????

Can you tell me what would work with a cuban that is a 1.5 to 2 in

I just noticed what i Wrote i didnt mean he had the BREEDING PAIR I MENT HE ORDERS THEM
THATS MY FAULT

cichlid room companion I believe or cichlidae.com. If you want quality info and articles go there. I can probably find the post mentioned talking about the varients of cubans. I think there are like 6 different variants all with slightly different color markings and shape. One of the reasons I went with the fish I got(came from cavamart's pair by the way that now belong to aclockworkorange, the fish he posted) is because I knew there were different variants of cubans and believe it or not I have heard of male cubans martyring females so I wanted chose a variant that might be more compatible. I don't know how much logic is in that but that was my mindset.
