Cuban Cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
might be a good idea to keep him alone for now. 29 gallons isn't a lot of room.

Why do you need to find something else to place in the 29 gal with him? That's a small tank and possibly one of the reasons it is killing everything that you place in it with him. Let him have the tank for himself before you waste more time and money on more fish that he is going to kill. If you just want to see more activity in the tank, try a school of barbs or tetras. He may leave them alone since they are not cichlids. A small bichir might work too. Just don't force the issue if there's is no need to.

I agree 29 you cant put nothing else.room is the problem .Two fish is most of the time is a problem too, unless they are a pair. The key to raising agressive fish together you need a big tank and three to four of them .Raising them from juvenile together with lots of rocks for hidding. In my 90 gallon iIhave a Cuban,Green terror
Red Snook and Short Body Pink Convict. They chase other but four keep them watching their back so in balances out. After time they will still need more room.

I went the route like Gruff Master said- my 5 Cubans (2M/3F) are in my 120 gal. with a bunch of Buenos-Aires Tetras

hey if f0 of cubans are special should i buy this 10" large pair with an f0 male and f1 female

I would be VERY skeptical someone saying they have f0 cubans. I think a pair is worth it either way but unless it's from a reliable source I doubt one is truly f0.

If you have a spare tank for a large pair then go ahead. I know you have a very crazy stocklist going so unless you have a spare 75 I would let it go. Cubans are very aggressive when spawning. Think of them as litttle hatiensis as far as aggression.

I think i might go the route of barbsor what about a few small silver dollars or a bichir that sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the info i didnt think aobut it that way
