Mine would be the monster goldies that are sitting in my 55 right now. They're going to be getting a pond soon.

A couple of minnows (lived on lake St. Clair in Michigan then) I was 2.5yrs old and caught them myself. Kept them in the original 'fish bowl'. Parents made me get water from lake every day to do W/Cs (I probably thought it was fun THEN). Have had pike, bass, catfish, dogfish, sunfish, perch and anything else that I could catch or went in my nets. Haven't stopped since. Addicted? NOT ME...NOOO Way.

Oh, BTW...Freshwater Rules! Even in Florida.

Two golden gouramis, common plec, and I think some tiger barbs that I inherited when I was 22.But my first tank was one of those plastic 5g hex deals from Wal-mart with two newts.

my first fish was feeder golds.long ago
my first fish when serious in the hobby was fighting fish.
my first fish that went into a tank when serious in the hobby was texas cichlids
