What kind of pellets are you using? The tetra floating sticks are really stinky. And the sink after a minute or two. My ngt's were shipped to me on worms and squid. They started taking the pellets the 2nd day in the tank. I know they are not you so cal thin bars.

Just be careful how much you starve them. My NTT's would only eat live for the first 5 or so months I had them. Feeding them cut up earth worms may help to transition them to pellets, they slightly wiggle but for the most part just sink.

My AT's will eat anything that falls into the tank, and I think that helped train my NTTs to go for pellets.

Or you could try getting a powerhead or a strong current, so when you drop a pellet in, it shoots across the tank for your NTT to chase. The first pellets my NTTs ate were only fast moving pellets. Now they eat them just as they sink.

ill eventually throw in some shrimp. ive seen my old widebars look like skin and bone for a month and still stayed alive.

i tested mine today. all 4 took a taste of pellets and spit it back out and looked at me like they were gonna kill me in my sleep LOL

hahaha. have u tried tricking them by sticking pellets in the shrimp?
or hikari sticks in crickets?
possibly even just prying one of there mouths open and sticking a pellet down!
that sounds really messed up. but maybe itll get them to realize its food! hahahahah one day... maybee

i starve them for 3 days and throw in pellets i know they are hungry because they come up to the tank when its feeding time. second attempt failed today. but improved alittle. actually chewed it a few times and spit it out. and still had that look. i think its gonna grow legs and kill me in my sleep the 3rd time i try this again

soak them a little bit 1st until they loosen up some.if they put them in thier mouth and spit them out it may be the hard texture.at least thats what i think and it worked for me.i am obviously not in cali though.

datnoids are weird fishes LOL. my indo doesnt have a problem eating pellets so does my bichirs and gars. and my silvers just sucks on them and go right for the worms.
