current batch of thinbars on pellets

really? ive fed those to my datnoids before my thinbar doesnt even go near it. but my indo and silver dat loves those along with my bichirs.

My nickel sized dats are already eating pellets. I think you must train from young. My 4-5 incher will not touch pellets. He would rather die

i have trained fish off food many times. even starved dats up to 4 months. but im specifically talking about the thinbars that are currently being sold in the lfs in southern california. i bought 3 from all different stores. and all 3 wont budge with pellets. starting to get real irritating and starting to look real ugly too

i trained my 5 inch indo to eat pellets by giving him half a krill if he ate a pellet. i'd put a pellet in the tank, if he eats it i'd throw in a piece of krill and now he eats hikari floating carnivore pellets.

i admit to slicing thawed out lancefish and pushing pellets into them , it does work

that doesnt work. or atleast for me. first week i had some smashed pellets in the shrimp. next week i increased more. then finally week after that i put more pellets then shrimp. and the dats refused it. there smart.
and now.. several months later. there just eating shrimp

Tong grab the fish in the net open its mouth and shove the pellets in. once they get a taste they will eat it. thats how i got mine to eat it after i starved it for 5 days. all my indos and 1 thinbar is on pellets. gotta show them your the boss. if you dont eat i will force feed you. lol. its cruel but it works at least for me.
