I know there is info in google about it.. but I wish I could get answers from experienced folks here. I'm planning to get one for my spare 4x2x2 tank, I already talk to a hobbyist that sells 4 varities of this wolves, namely mala, red, black and aimara. I told him I'll give him a call on the 30th on what I would take. I know to be on the safe side I must keep it on solitude. So I would like to know the difference between these two species and which is much enjoyable to keep, because I can only keep one. Aimara is my first choice but it's out of my budget range as of the moment but I will get that in 2 months time since I already reserve for a slot next shipment. So I'm stuck with the common wolf and the black wolf as my choice. Hoping I can get inputs here before I can make a decision. Thanks in advance! HFK! :)

Out of those, I'd go with the curupira as I hear it's more aggressive than the mala. I've never owned either, so I'm completely going based off of hearsay here ;), but that seems to be the general consensus. Or just save and wait for the aimara, as that would be the beast you'd be happiest with, I'm sure.

I'd go for curupira.. Looks better than mala and doesn't grow as big! ;)

I have had both. I find Curupra more active. Mine ate pellets abd chased for them. Mala never and dis not swimm nearly as much.

curu! They are much more interesting and beautiful. mlas are a bit boring since they are living logs, only active at night.

I have only owned a curupira out of the two so I may be biased: but the curupira's colour-tone and behaviour really makes for an interesting fish and I don't think you would be disappointed.

Personally, it was the one fish that actually excited me to go home to stare at it.
