Sounds like a good deal, however don't you have to fill the tank all the way up for the overflow and on top of that don't the tide pool hold a lot of water. I'm not familiar with these filters just thinking about your weight concerns

Oh wow good point, I never even thought of that! I'll have to ask the seller how its hooked up. Worse comes to worse though I can always mod it so it works.

yeah you would have to fill it all the way up for overflows, you could just get a canister filter and use that while you cant fill it up and save everything else for when you move to a different place and can use all of it

Oh I will be throwing a Canister on there but its not strong enough to take the tank by itself. I'm hoping that I don't need to buy a like $500 canister if I can just mod this intake. I think if I ablsolutley am forced to cut them to make them shorter then I can always buy replacement tubes, can't be that expensive for some 1.5" clear tube you know?

if you put the tank on the exterior wall of your place i highly doubt the extra 24 gallons is gonna make a huge difference, just try to shave weight every where else, just my 2 cents, if 24 gallons makes that big of a difference then you cant have more than one person in front of your tank or any furniture nearby

Just make sure you put your tank across as many studs as possible. It won't break through if that's what your worried about.

Thats what I was thinking as well. Put it on a load bearing wall and perpendicular to as many joists as possible. I'm not really worried its more so my parents. It also helps that we have a old house so the 2"x8" are actually that! haha
