Custom Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
seems like a good deal get it. ;-) and agreed with the rest it will be fine.

just one question? do your parents know the difference between a 101 gallon and a 125? i reckon not, and unless they use mfk conversion tool probably never will.

id just tell them, its a 101, :naughty:

p.s, its ok to lie to your parents for MFK reasons only. ;)

edit: helps if they dont see the ad though lol.

Oh no I already told them about it but I was thinking just slowly keep filling it up until its at the top and they won't notice :P haha

My only problem is getting the money! I'm a unemployed student with currently no money lol So I've got tons of stuff posted to try and make money, if I can sell half of the stuff posted I'll make enough to buy it though so fingers crossed.

Nah they already know how big it is, I told I wouldn't fill it all the way up but... I'm planning on slowly like every few water changes add a inch or something, they're never notice :naughty: haha

My main problem is being an unemployed student! lol I've posted so much stuff to try and raise money for this tank with any luck though is if I sell like half the stuff posted I'll half enough for it. Any body interested in a Ipod? :D

How does this sound, I'll buy it for you, raise the price by $400 bucks and I'll even pay for shipping! What a steal! haha :D Then I can buy the tank, you get your mag 9.5, and I get to keep all my tanks... I know you wanna hehe

Update!! Might be able to pick up a 8' acrylic tank and 6' acrylic tank for $225!! Dimensions are 96"x18"x15" do you think this would be better then the 125? It ends up being about 112 gallons; the acrylic one.

Cheers!

It all depends on what you want to keep. The 8' would be great for something with a longer body type such as jd and geos but if you want something with the taller body like vieja or oscars it might be too shallow as these guys would take up half the height of the tank after you account for an inch or 2 of substrate. However if you are thinking about torpedo shaped fish you'll have a bigger footprint which equals more territories, also acrylic ways next to nothing compared to glass.

I was thinking about the weight difference in it just being acrylic, would there be a large difference? Also would it still be fine for the Jag or is 15" to short for a big bruiser like that?

What would be an example of a torpedo shape cichlid? pikes?

Cheers

Acrylic is probably 1/3 the weight of glass. Pike would be good, never seen a full grown jag is person you might want a new thread about that

Really? there is that big of a weight difference!? thats awesome! haha Well I started this thread in hopes of putting a Jag in there but if I end up getting an 8' tank I might have to re-think my stocking... and extra 2' of length is a lot of play in my books :D

Cheers!
