They've started clearing sand in front of the opening to the small cichlid stone and the male is chasing others away persistently now. Good signs

I got 10 Cryptoheros Chetumalensis a while back and only got one female.
I like the Cutteri. That male is sweet.

Yeah, the female in particular has been sexually mature since about may and the male FINALLY colored up, I ended up with 3f/2m. Guess I got lucky.

Nice! That male is nice, tall body and all...
On a side note he has been abusing the female pretty badly since they stated pair behavior... This normal? I mean I've bred cons, but this is pretty rough... Here are some pics from today

The female - didn't even recognize her...
He tolerates her, but won't let her near the little cichlid stone in the middle... Makes me wonder if they laid eggs and I missed it.
