Cyano, Carpintis or Hybrid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I really find that hard to believe. I don't ever remember 40 years ago seeing them with stumped/deformed bodies.

Red texas weren't around 40 yrs ago.....

Short bodied fish were first developed in Asia (goldfish) and later became popular with many species. Now, short bodied everything exists. Don't shoot the messenger.

While the most common scenario is that the fish shown is a cross between a common blood parrot, and an H. carpintis, that too is still just a guess. Unfortunately most F1 offspring of that cross look like normal H. carpintis.

It doesn't look like a Cyano to me. +1 for the short bodied Carpintas. It could be a hybrid but I think it's more down to inbreeding.

Short bodies used to be considered culls (still are to most) however as stated thier popularity is rising. I'd say short body carpintis (cyano would have much smaller more uniform spots).
