That's what I was saying, no way is that fish a carpintis. Yet every one of these threads has someone saying the oposite.

They are the same. The fish you posted is stressed, which is why the color is lighter. The spots are similar, and so is the black blotch on the side near the tail. Fish collected from different areas or bred w/ different genes will look slightly different. The point is a capintis does look very different to me. Here are more pics of my cyano.

Here is a capintis.

If you expect every cyano to look exactly alike or exactly like yours then your never going to see another one. Wild caught ones from different regions looks slightly different, wild caught ones compared to several generations of tank bred ones are going to look slightly different. They are not going to look exactly the same, but that does not make them carpintis.

Nice cyano cichlidfish. I bet if you post that fish and ask for an ID you will get at least 40% of the people will claim it a carpintis. Seems to be a lot of confusion over these guys.

No, the last pic you put is carpintis escondido, as I tell before, there is a lot of species of carpintis.

The pic I put of cyano isn´t stresed, it is the AUTHENTIC texas, but the forums and the shops confuse this species.

The points you say are identic, but they aren´t, and neither the colour, cyano is pearl colour, and some exemplars have a soft green.

There are mor of 6 species of carpintis, and in the market there are a lot of hibridations, between carpintis and carpintis/cyano.

I know all the cyano aren´t like the one I put, this cyano isn´t mine. If you see the link I put, you can see diferent colour of cyano, but they have always the same line. Ordenated, small points, with pearl colour. These are the differences between cyano and all carpintis variations
The fish of cichlidfish isn´t cyano, is an hibrid, as I told him long time ago.

You are right about the carpintis escondido, but they look similar. They both look different then cyano. Its because they are from further south then cyano. The cyano I had was a tank bred fish. Generation after generation will be different, but if it were a hybrid, then the spots would be different.
There are other cichlids that are the same species that look slightly different depending where they are from, like firemouths.
Electric blue dempeys are supposed to be regular JDs bred to keep certain genes. That is why they look so different. Same can go w/ cyanos.
