Cycling 55 gallon aquarium...Need help

Depends on how long it takes to get from his place to yours... bb needs air to live, just like fish. Bring a air pump if its a bit of a trip.

Awesome. So I helped my friend move his 180 gal tank today. While I was over he gave me one of his filter cartridges to take home. I drove home and dropped it in the tank.

Anything else I should do at this point????

Did you keep it wet?

With the readings you've got you really need to water change much more than normal until the filter catches up.
 
Yeah. It went into a plastic Baggie still being soaked with water. How long should I keep the cart. In there?

You should have put the cartridge in the filter, that way the bacteria colony will grow all over the bio in the filter. I would keep it in there until you start to see your parameters level off.

That's ok.....Did you squeeze it? I'd leave it in for a few days...You could actually submerge it with a rock..
